What's Up With Tensai? If you've reached this page, you probably are looking to have one or more questions answered. The easiest way is to just go over the three most commonly asked questions. Where did your personal page, 'Living In The Gap' go? Back when blogging first began, I used to be a somewhat prolific blogger. In fact, the Spoiler Slayer was launched off of an original concept on my personal page. After making the pilgrimage from Chicago to California, I still found time to blog while I was out looking for a job. But over time, my job and the amount of week I needed to put in the Spoiler Slayer, slowly but surely took its toll. I returned briefly about two years ago, but I find myself heavily constrained in certain ways. In my old job, there was no issue talking about my co-workers, boss, or the work itself. In my new company, if I did it would just be an accident waiting to happen. Since work is such a big part of my life, it's very hard to find things to talk about that don't involve it in some way. My goal was to turn 'Living In The Gap' into a page that focused on the other time sink in my life, the culture of mass media. I was going strong for a bit, but once again I found myself trying to juggle too many things. I began wondering if I could find some type of solution... What happened to the Spoiler Slayer? If you take a quick dash over to the site, you'll find the full details there. Suffice it to say that posting spoilers suddenly became extremely hazardous. While I would love to bring the site back and spoil other shows, the success of the site made me a target. If another Whedon series arrives, Fox will come looking at my site to see if I'm back to my old ways. For current shows, I'm more than happy to remain unspoiled. To be honest, I could go either way with spoilers. If I find or hear about them, it doesn't bother me. But overall, I would prefer not to know if possible. But the site is back up as an archive, so feel free to stop by there anytime to see what things were like back in the day. Which should bring up the question... What happened to "What next?" The goal was to get a new site up and running, one which combined the best of the Spoiler Slayer with the media aspects of 'Living in the Gap'. Now, nearly two years after the fact, I have to admit that the site never really got anywhere. There was something much easier about blogging when you only worked 3 days a week, or had lots of time to kill. Between work, real life, and the stress-relief I call MMO's, there just isn't time for a blog. The Spoiler Slayer is gone, Living in the Gap is gone, and now The Quiet Geek has been taken down. Who knows, maybe I'll be back someday, but sadly like so many other blogs on the Net, there just isn't time anymore. Hopefully one day, there will be time again. Frank S - Ten |
